Welcome to Toronto!

This is me. Admittedly, it’s a long time ago, but I’ve always been fascinated with this photo taken on a sleepy Sunday afternoon at Toronto’s City Hall in Nathan Phillips Square. Fascinated because I am most certainly the only person in the frame…and today, that could never, ever happen.

As I have grown and evolved, so too has Toronto. (In fact, I like to think that we kind of grew up together.) Today Nathan Phillips Square is no longer sleepy. It is a centre of energy and activity, home to Toronto’s Municipal Government and the iconic ‘TORONTO’ sign that draws visitors from all over the world, simply for the perfect photo opp.

Toronto has been my home for an entire lifetime. I played in it’s playgrounds and walked the hallways of it’s schools. I know it’s neighbourhoods intimately, understand the roots of it’s diversity, plundered it’s restaurants on hunts for perfection, sampled it’s theatre and music scene, wandered it’s green spaces and ravines, traipsed to it’s farmer’s markets and navigated each of our spectacular 4 seasons. I’ve built a home here, raised my children here, loved and lost here. It is the perfect back-drop for all of the above.

It couldn’t be a better home. Yes, it’s a world class city and one that consistently ranks at the top by experts in the ‘quality of life’ space for so many reasons. It offers much – and it is unique in that it can become home to people from anywhere in the world because it speaks to everyone in the world.

It’s a privilege to be able to share Toronto with our clients relocating from across the planet. To help them find a sense of home when they are so far away from the familiar. To help them see where community lives and how to access it, to help them make sense of all the ‘bits and bobs’ so they can actually go out and enjoy what it has to offer. (And of course, yes, we also give advice on how to dress for the winter!)

Welcome! You’re going to love it…and if you need any help finding your way, don’t hesitate to tap the shoulder of a stranger for advice or to reach out to me. We’re a pretty helpful bunch!
